Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)

On complex construction projects, the most cost-effective risk mitigation happens early in the design phase. Problems are far easier and far cheaper to resolve within the digital environment than when construction is underway. Partnering with our clients in the pre-construction phase has proven to be the best way to expedite the delivery of data centres. Collaborating upfront with the consultancy team enables us to provide holistic and innovative buildability advice and solutions, while integrating our trusted subcontractor and supplier network early.

Modular and Off-site Delivery

Modularisation supports more reliable commissioning by reducing variability and improving the quality of integrated systems testing. When planned early, it makes staged energisation more predictable and gives teams greater confidence in performance outcomes. At Multiplex, modularisation is embedded from design commencement and carried through delivery, rather than added later.

As GPU-class rack densities increase and programmes tighten, modular delivery has become a practical response to growing complexity. Prefabricated switch rooms, MEP FCUs and cooling systems allow offsite manufacture to progress in parallel with site works — addressing the resource equation while improving quality control and enabling faster, safer assembly on site.
