From Shunde's industrial rise to Melbourne's First Light, one family principle travels across generations.
Translating Three Generations of Quality into Melbourne's Built Environment
At the heart of DCF Property Group lies an enduring multi-generational philosophy that bridges the industrial heritage of Shunde with the pinnacle of Melbourne's luxury property market. Founded by Calvin Huang, the firm operates on a foundational family ethos encapsulated in eight Chinese characters: 以质取胜,守信互利 (Win through quality, honour trust, create mutual benefit). This principle was first tested in the 1970s by Calvin's grandfather, Jinmian Zhang, against the rigorous tolerances of an award-winning diesel engine casting. In the decades that followed, his father, Zhuohui Huang, scaled this discipline across complex cross-industry manufacturing supply chains for global icons like IKEA and Disneyland.
Today, Calvin Huang translates this rigorous standard into an elite registry of space, taste, and human experience.

The definitive manifestation of this heritage is First Light, a landmark mixed-use tower rising gracefully within Melbourne's prestigious Domain Precinct. Named to mark the precise hour of Melbourne's solemn Anzac Day dawn service, the development stands within sight of the Shrine of Remembrance. Comprising thirty-five bespoke residences and ninety-seven luxury hotel rooms, First Light represents an uncompromising masterclass in curated international collaboration.
Every element of the architecture and interior design has been meticulously considered from first principles. The tower's fluid, curving façade draws structural inspiration from the layered art of Nobuhiro Nakanishi. Inside, the romantic residential interiors, conceived by renowned French designer Leo Terrando (former design director of SJB) — feature continuous travertine stone surfaces and iconic Italian Boffi kitchen islands. These state-of-the-art kitchens proudly mark the Australian debut of Miele's Matte Black appliance series. The precinct's lifestyle experience is further elevated by a destination restaurant curated by hospitality vanguard Josef Murray, and a sweeping public art installation by Paul Milinski, which choreographs an illuminated river of swans across the arrival ceiling.

Looking toward the next decade, DCF Property Group is set to expand this commitment to civic excellence with a monumental, ten-year undertaking at Station Pier beginning in 2027. Historically celebrated as Melbourne's principal gateway for postwar migration, the site will be thoughtfully reimagined into a thriving harbour city precinct. Blending premium dining, wellness facilities, co-working spaces, and boutique coastal residences, the masterplan is grounded in public utility. By transforming a chaotic transport terminal into a sheltered, weather-protected community forecourt and public library, DCF will restore true civic dignity to a vital piece of Victorian history.
Across every project, the application changes, but the core discipline remains absolute: delivering precise, world-class environments that beautifully serve the lives lived within them.
